Small Update

Hello everyone!

There hasn't been any stitching since my last check in due to a few minor health problems getting in the way. This unfortunately means I'm behind on the deadline for HMS Victory but I'm sure the recipient won't mind.

I have put in some time on the sewing machine and so has my other half! Mine is nearly done so I'll save the photos until it's completely finished. He made me a drawstring bag for my headphones out of the same fabric I'm using in my project.

Check out Knotty by Nature, it's a team of individuals that stream (via twitch) their crafting from sewing to knitting to cross stitch! It has been lovely to sit and chat with some of them and has provided some oomph to my dwindling crafty bug. I've even set up my own channel which will have cross stitch, video games and maybe some sewing if I can get a set up to work.

See you all again soon :)

IHSW + Faithful Arpil Update 2

Hello everyone! Isn't it nice when a project fits for two stitchy goals? :P

I haven't spent as much time stitching as I would like but I'm completely hooked on Stardew Valley! I'm in my second year, haven't upgraded my house yet but I've unlocked the bus, made gold tools and have the largest backpack.

Sorry for the shine through but it's actually sunny here so I'm not going to complain. I have enjoyed keeping up with some of those that are doing the A-Z challenge, does anyone else feel that the blogosphere is too quiet when it's over?

Faithful April Update #1

I've got to say seeing the ship come together has stirred me on to want to stitch more!

We went for a walk around the nature reserve near us and it was nice. I've missed going for walks there (it gets really muddy when it rains). We didn't see any deer but we did see a pheasant, unfortunately I only had my phone so these are the only 2 "decent" photos:

I hope you all have a good week!

Trip to Carlisle and Gretna Green

I completely forgot to tell you about our little road trip so here it is. Granted when you take the A1, it doesn't take long to get to Carlisle however we decided to the scenic route passing through Lanchester. It was so scenic we had to stop to let this rabble past...

We reached Carlisle and there was a world market on! I do love world markets as the paella is usually lovely! Here are the photos from Carlisle:

Carlisle Cathedral

Carlisle Priory

Carlisle Castle
We had enough after a few hours as the castle isn't open on a weekday and the other half isn't a fan of shopping. We were only 20 minutes away from Gretna so off we went! No, before anyone asks we did NOT get married ;) The looks we got when we told family and friends about our trip! I'm just going to add that we had a job finding the famous blacksmith's as it wasn't very clearly signposted. A turn left sign when there was 2 left exits, took the first one...nope wrong one!
Welcome to Scotland!

Anvil Hall

Pathway to the Anvil Hall entrance
Those bricks leading to the entrance have the names and dates of people who were married there. How sweet is that?!

I dubbed this the Irn Bru bus!

I hope you enjoyed the photos! I thought I'd let the photos do their job rather than having me witter on :)

I've been thinking about RAKs and giveaways (I'd like to do a giveaway next year as it will be the blog's 5th birthday!) and I've come up with a questionnaire. I'd be grateful if you could fill it out and send it to me at emmylou.9223(AT)gmail(DOT)com The address and e-mail sections are there for RAK purposes however if you don't want to fill those parts out then don't worry about it. I promise not to abuse your responses or details and will not share them with anyone. Oh by purses I mean the items that you put your cash in :) Thank you in advance.

Daily Cross Stitch SAL update and 3 sewing finishes!

Hello everyone!

I haven't gotten far with March's SAL project and to be honest I'm not feeling it either so I'm putting it aside for now and will get back to it at one point. I have put in stitches here and there on HMS Victory, it needs to be finished by the start of May...towards the end of April to be on the safe side when it comes to framing.

With the deadline on HMS Victory, I'm going to join in Justine's quest of 'Faithful April' which dedicates the month of April to one project. I'm sure I can stick to that.

Can you believe I've actually had the sewing machine out? It feels like it has been a while but once again it's now living on the table waiting to be used.

I made 3 drawstring bags, one to hold headphones, one to hold a controller and the other to hold a charger. I used a tutorial to find out how to make them.

Yes, one of those secret fabrics was Star Wars themed! I bought it from Frumble who have a geek subcategory although not all of there geeky fabrics are in there. The flowery fabric was given to me by a friend at Christmas.

I've also started on another duffel bag pattern, it's the last one on my to-do list. I'm about half way through with the quilting on the main piece.
